New Additions To Our Family!!!

One of our goats, here at Road Apple Acres is Genevieve a Lamancha. When we rescued her we didn’t know she just became pregnant.  We are excited to announce, Genevieve, who now answers to the name Rickie, gave birth to 3 health babies on Saturday 2-28-15!

2014 FUNdraising Event for Road Apple Acres Horse Rescue

On November 19, 2014 two sisters organized a FUNdraiser for our horse rescue.  The purpose for this event was to raise donations to help feed the horses through the winter months.  To give you an idea of what transpired, the vendors showcased WINEWEAR by Sonia Lee, Mary Kay by Consultant Suzie Marquardt, Tiger’s World Children’s Book by author C. A. Ritz, Origami Owl Jewelry by Rose Bower and there was also a raffle. After 4 hours, they raised $800, which helped purchase over three months of food.

We want to say, THANK YOU to the Marquardt Sisters for organizing and hosting this event and THANK YOU to Shelley, Cynthia, Rhonda and the Las Vegas Farmers Market for providing food and beverages.  A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event successful!

The kids are VERY HAPPY and we are VERY GREATFUL!

Thank you Banixx

Thank you for sending us your anti-fungal, anti-bacterial topical horse spray BANIXX. It really works on our rescue horses and on our goats, dogs, cats and even Bills feet. It is an awesome product that works! Thank you Jane at Banixx.com

THERAPY HORSES

I try not to be too picky about words, but words do have meanings. I do not like for my horses to be referred to as “therapy horses.” I do not object to the term because it suggests that there are people out there who need horses for therapy. I object because the term suggests that there are people out there who do NOT need horses for therapy.

Horses are therapy for whatever the problem is!
Overweight, high blood pressure? Ride
Back, knee, joint pain? Ride
Husband left you for another woman? Ride
Wife left you for another man? Ride
Hate your job? Ride
Got obnoxious kids? Ride
Got obnoxious parents? Ride
Is the problem such that riding is impossible?

– The Solution –
Brush, lead, handle a horse. Is the problem such that that is impossible? Sit and watch them in the pasture. There are very few holes that exist that horses cannot plug.
